Protection's Price Accepted

Griffin, griffon, griffyn, gryphon all refer to the same creature with the body of a lion and head and wings of an eagle.

I have another story called "Protection's Price" that has been accepted into an anthology about griffins called Extraordinary Beasts: Talons and Tails.

"Protection's Price" is a Silver Honorable Mention winner in the Writers of the Future contest. It's a dark fantasy that I love, and I'm so glad it's found a home. The initial comments from the editor, Jana S. Brown, probably describe it better than I can:

"This was a powerful story of what it means to keep your word." And I would add, the consequences if you don't.

After several miscarriages, Evangeline seeks help from the sphynx and her griffin servant in her latest pregnancy. She and her husband make a pricey deal, but long after the birth of her son, does that deal still have value or purpose?
